CSSDIR's system requirements are VERY minimal.

  • OS/2 Warp4 (fp9 or greater) or eComStation(eCS):
    • standard command line prompt
    • Alt-F1 command line prompt (via recovery screen)
    • eComStation installation CD (command console, Shift+F3)
    • REXX is not required
    • tested on machines with as little as 64MB of memory, (32-64MB ought to work as well)
    • It's not dependent on the PMSHELL or WPS being available, nor on any non-standard DLL's except when requesting message digests: MD5, SHA1, and/or SHA256.

  • Windows (NT sp6, 2000, 2000 server, XP):
    • standard command line prompt
    • it has been successfully tested off a CD boot with Bart's Preinstalled Environment (BartPE) bootable live windows CD/DVD
    • tested on machines with as little as 64MB of memory,
    • basic tests on NT sp6 with as little as 32MB of memory.
    • It's not dependent on the OS's GUI being available, nor on any non-standard DLL's.
